Film

From narrative shorts to mini-documentaries, I love the dance between imagery and sound in film to tell stories of our natural world and our connection to one another. Here are some of my recent video projects, made possible by the talented teams I have collaborated with.

Earth Ritual - Leoni Fretwell.jpg

Earth Ritual

An ecological circus performance crafted by Becoming Crew and Of The Wild. A beautiful and intimate tribute to our planet through acrobatics, poetry, music, dance and ritual. It was a joy to film and photograph the event in Bristol.

Bristol Commons: Making of A Mural

How can we build a community of reciprocity, caring and sharing? This is exactly what The Bristol Commons community mural represents, materialised collaboratively in the heart of Stokes Croft - a vibrant creative district in the city.

Communion

Rooted in decolonial practice, the event created a safe space for revolutionary dialogue, inner reflection and empowerment, inspiring new ways to reimagine how we cultivate a more just world.

Ascent

Ascent follows three intertwining stories, grounded by one painting and the marks we leave on each other's lives. My first major short film production, created with a team of over twenty Devon creatives.

Mei Lou: Behind The Lens

In the style of a mini-documentary, this brand video delves behind the scenes for Mei Lou Photography. Her work captures the rawness of intimate moments between familial relationships, preserving these in a photographic time capsule.

Wings of Glass

Two dancers, two worlds. One shared memory. Wings of Glass is a short film on ambition and fragility, and the pain of confronting the past.

Forest of Dean - Leoni Fretwell-1.jpg

Forest of Dean

Documented moments from a colourful sashiko workshop, hosted by Re_Thrindle. Mended garments are like artworks we can wear; in a society that values disposability, textile repair is a radical act.

Archives

A visual poem about a botanist exploring our interdependency with the natural world. How we rely on Earth for our material needs, how we find solace amidst climate anxiety, and how we form a part of the architecture of nature.
