Celebrating sustainable weddings

For a TFP shoot, photographer Mei Lou gathered local vendors and suppliers to capture a sustainable wedding setting.

Taking inspiration from the venue, a soft colour palette was chosen to blend in with the flowers entwining the Hamswell House pergola. The outfits and decor were carefully selected to create a contemporary and refined style.

Every detail was designed to be respectful to the environment, from the beautiful textures of organic vegan silks and lace to the locally grown apricot and gentle pink blooms that fill the heavenly tablescape.

Working across both video and photography, I focused on distilling the ethereal quality of the shoot while preserving its grounded ethos. My lens offered not just aesthetic refinement, but emotional resonance and narrative clarity.

Aligning elegance with ethereal and ethical visuals

I captured gentle movements to create a visual rhythm that mirrored the stillness and intention behind the styling. The final video edit reflected the muted tones and graceful energy of the day, incorporating a soundscape that invited viewers into an experience of elegance.

My photographic approach highlighted texture and materiality - hand-cut lace, dewy petals, and aged stone - elevating the story of sustainability through texture and depth. These images distilled the tactile beauty of ethical choices, grounding the elegance of the editorial in its environmental ethos.

Throughout the shoot, I worked in close alignment with the wider creative team to ensure the visuals supported each vendor’s vision while remaining cohesive with the narrative we were collectively building. Together, these outputs honoured the craft and values of all involved, positioning their work within an emerging movement toward ethical celebration.
