In the style of a mini-documentary, this brand video delves behind the scenes for Mei Lou Photography. Her work captures the rawness of intimate moments between familial relationships, preserving these in a photographic time capsule - I aimed to capture this essence behind Mei Lou’s lens.
When I first met Mei Lou, we immediately connected over our love for nature and visual art. We were excited to work on our first project together, where I could use my filmmaking experience to document her photography in ways her audience had never seen before.
After learning about the nuances of Mei Lou’s process, I shared a creative treatment alongside a vision board to ensure our ideas aligned, and in the space of a few weeks brought the concept to life.

A visual time capsule
We organised the shoots in three locations - a local café to open and close the video for Mei Lou's ideation and editing process, the gardens of a local estate to highlight her love for the outdoors, and in the intimate space of a client's home for her mother-daughter photoshoot.
These assets have been used across her digital marketing channels to show the person behind the brand. We were able to convey the settings that showcase the range of Mei Lou's photography, as well as the places that represent the heart of her work - creativity, organic visuals, and familial connection.
