Yukimi

Photography

Centering detail and softness, I photographed Yukimi’s new collection to honour the materiality behind the garments: the hands that shaped them, and the ecosystems they came from.

Centering craftsmanship

Rooted in a reverence for nature and a love for natural fibres, Yukimi is a slow fashion brand born from a deep respect for the earth, community, and craftsmanship. Each garment reflects an intentional design process guided by the founder’s connection to nature, the wisdom passed down by her mother, and close collaborations with artisans in India.

With sustainability at its core, Yukimi breathes life into surplus fabrics, transforming them into limited-edition collections that honour the wild feminine with grace and strength.

When photographing Yukimi’s upcoming collection, I wanted to echo the same intentionality and poetic sensibility that lives within the brand. Shot among blossoms of a rose garden and the open stillness of a meadow near the River Avon, the location became a quiet collaborator, holding space for the textures, colours, and forms of the garments to unfurl.

The gentle power of slow fashion

Through delicate framing and dance-like movement, my aim was to craft a visual experience that celebrated the tactile richness of each piece.

This shoot was not only about showcasing a collection; it was an invitation into a deeper story - one of connection, ancestral wisdom, and a gentler rhythm of making and wearing. I’m grateful to have played a part in amplifying Yukimi’s vision with imagery that reflects its heart: thoughtful, rooted, and quietly powerful.
